We are now proud to offer prints from our extensive collection of vintage
Photochrom(e) reproductions. Prints in this collection include landscapes,
seascapes, storms, boats, mountains, lakes, rivers, cities, and even an authentic
Spanish Bullfight! Most scenes depict activities from the late 1800's in
Western Europe.
Photochrom(e) prints were created by first taking a black and white photograph
and then 'painting' the image using a lithographic technique. Because of
the technology of the time ( typically late 1800's ) most images are not
the 'photographic' type image we're used to by today's standards of sharpness
and clarity and they actually appear more like a classic impressionist painting.
These make beautiful additions to any room and are often mistaken for paintings.
