| Underglazes.
Underglazes are colors which have clay in them. They are applied directly to greenware by brushing, sponging or with an airbrush and are generally used as a basecoat. One-Stroke colors are highly concentrated products made for use on greenware or over under glazes. They are most often used to detail work. Once pieces decorated with underglazes and one stroke colors are bisque fired, they are glazed and re-fired. All color manufacturers give specific directions for use on each jar of underglaze and one stroke color. |
