THEY HAVE ALSO HAD STORIES WRITTEN ABOUT THEM AND THEIR CREATIVE PROJECTS IN NUMEROUS NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES INCLUDING THE "FLORIDA" AND "ORLANDO" MAGAZINES.
GLENN & SANDY ROGERS now reside in Orlando, Florida after successfully touring the country for 15 years as artists and performers with the famed RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS. Previous to joining 'RBBB CIRCUS', Glenn spent several years as an International Flooring and Home Furnishings Designer with the CONGOLEUM CORP. where he was one of the youngest designers ever hired by the company, reaching early success. He was called upon to contribute design ideas in the creation of the 'YELLOW BRICK ROADS' vinyl floor which covered the streets used in the movie THE WIZ starring MlCHAEL JACKSON & DIANA ROSS.
Utilizing his display and design talents, he worked for a time with the WALT DISNEY WORLD CO. as a Visual Display Specialist. Glenn designed merchandising and movie promotional displays, and originated a promotional textile repeat pattern which appears on a number of merchandising items for the highly successful animated movie 'ALADDIN'.
Glenn's Fine Art Painting have been exhibited in New York City, SOHO Galleries, and other area shows. Besides being schooled and experienced in many phases of Fine and Commercial Art, Glenn also pursued a career in the entertainment field. After studying the acting craft for many years in New York City, he went on to perform on the New York Stage and Regional Television Commercials. He also has numerous movie appearances to his credit, which include... ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS', 'PARENTHOOD', and 'QUICK CHANGE' starring Bill Murray. His wide range of creative talents include comedy writing for "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and light-hearted storyboards for TV Commercials....including CHARMIN TISSUE featuring 'MR. WHIPPLE'. His comedic and artistic abilities landed him a spot with the 'RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS.' As a writer he developed comedy skit ideas; as an artist he was responsible for creating sight gags, props, costumes, etc....and as CRICKET the performing Circus Clown, he did daily shows and promotional appearances for Television, Radio, and Print. CRICKET was selected to perform at the WHITE HOUSE In Washington, D.C. for President Ronald Reagan. But, according to Glenn, his most rewarding accomplishment while touring with THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH' was finding the love of his life, Sandy.
Sandy has the proud distinction of being a pioneer in the 'Circus World' by becoming one of thefirst professional female Circus Clowns, as well as an outstanding comedy juggler. This enabled her to become the Ambassador of Goodwill for "RBBB CIRCUS' visiting countless Newspaper, Radio, and TV Shows around the country announcing "THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH " was coming to town.
Sandy was invited to bring her unique expertise in the field of comedy to the campus of LEHIGH UNIVERSITY in Bethlehem, PA. , where she coordinated and taught the first accredited "CIRCUS CLOWNING" course in U.S. History.
For seven years Sandy held the position of "DIRECTOR" of "RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY'S" famed CLOWN COLLEGE'; the only school of its kind dedicated to training chosen students in the fine art of "CIRCUS CLOWNING." The curriculum included everything from elephant riding and stilt walking, to juggling, make-up and costume design. While exhibiting the skills of her profession, Sandy has had the opportunity to visit other countries including Holland, Scotland, and England; as well as participate in numerous National and Japanese Commercials including KODAK, MINOLTA, and KRAFT FOODS. After much success in the field of Commercial Art and Entertainment, the Rogers family have combined their many talents to do a variety of creative and imaginative pieces ranging from whimsical furniture and functional art to works on canvas. One of their specialties is the "WILD ANIMAL COLLECTION" which was inspired by the years they spent as artists and performers with "Ringling Bros., Barnum, & Bailey Circus".
Most recently they have been doing 'BOOM-ART' which has a nostalgic feel to it, is appreciated by all ages, and is very popular with the Baby Boom generation because it conjures up many memories from earlier years, with images that are very identifiable.
