This CD is incredibly useful for people like myself who've grown up in or near the city and now live in the country, or rural areas. This audio cd contains 'urban nature', or 'human music' - whichever you prefer - and is designed and intended to remove the remoteness of our rural environment and make us feel a little closer to society when we may be out and away from our normal surroundings. This CD was recorded with a custom binaural microphone system which captures audio the same way humans do. The adds ultra-realistic clarity and offers the best in artificial audio environments to date. You'll hear a simple interstate highway surrounded by a large wooded area. The recording was done at 11:30 pm EST so the traffic is moderate and not as cacophonic as rush hour traffic. Also, because it was night, you'll hear the chorus of insects, primarily crickets, performing their nightly patronage to the world. It's really rather hypnotic, as I'm sure you'll agree. Personally, I prefer urban sounds to certain natural sounds, such as ocean waves, because they have a heavier, more rounded low end and the stereo imaging is more dramatic. Listen to a sample of hiway sounds. This CD runs approximately 60 minutes and can be looped for ongoing ambience.
